Description

LXD is an open source container framework based on LXC. The next generation system container manager is designed to run multiple virtual operating system environments (isolated Linux containers) on a single server. LXD supplies a system daemon that applications can use to access LXC and has a template distribution system to enable faster container creation. Features include security (unprivileged containers, resource restrictions), image-based (with a variety of Linux distributions), support for cross-host container and image transfer, advanced resource control, device passthrough, and network and storage management.
